Written for the BBC songwriting competition, Sing London, in 2007. To get people singing at the 2012 Olympics, held in London.

The idea behind the song is that athletes and supporters travel from around the world to the Olympics, leaving their friends hundreds, even thousands of miles away. But we're all members of the Human Race

YOU ARE NOT ALONE

CHORUS
You’re out of sight, but in our mind
Search our thoughts, it’s you we find
Far and wide, you are not alone

You’re out of sight, but in our mind
Search our thoughts, it’s YOU we find
Far and wide, you are not alone

From far and wide the people came
Race of life, we’re all the same
In our dreams we’re racing side by side
Everyone will cheer you on
No matter where you came from
Do a personal best and claim
Staying true means more than fame

CHORUS

From far and wide, hear the cheers
Raise the roof every 4 years
In our dreams we’ll always be true friends
Even when it’s cold or raining
Nations practise all their training
Do a personal best and say
Step by step, we’ve found the way

CHORUS
