Written as a choral piece. Presented here as a poem.

Where do songs come from? Sometimes I ask friends for random song titles. Alan suggested “Peace be with you always”.
After my usual reaction of “What?” I knuckled down and wrote the following.
PEACE BE WITH YOU ALWAYS
Peace be with you always, Never let it hide
Peace be with you always, Keep it by your side
And with you
Peace be with you always, Never let it roam
Peace be with you always, Let it find its home
And near by
Peace be with you always, Always in your heart
Peace be with you always, Let it be a part of you (now)
In the middle of the night, When your hopes are low
And the rain breaks through your dream
When the sun appears again, Things are not what they seem
In the middle of the night, When the wild dog howls
And the fire’s no heat to lose
When the sun appears again, You will see new views
Peace be with you always, Never have a doubt
Peace be with you always, Only you can let it out
Peace be with you always, Nurture it with care
Peace be with you always, Make sure you have peace to spare
Peace be with you always
Always in your heart
Peace be with you always
Let it be a part of you
now
